Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office received a complaint [May 2] from a local landowner that protesters were trespassing on his land.  When deputies arrived there they observed four vehicles parked on private property near the road.  Deputies found the protesters mingling around the heavy equipment, causing a safety hazard for themselves and the construction workers.  They were ordered to return to their vehicles and were cited for trespassing and released without incident.

All were charged with criminal trespassing LSA R.S. 14:63, issued citations and released at the scene.
