Woman arrested in burglary
JENNINGS — A Lake Charles woman was arrested Monday in connection with a burglary in Jeff Davis Parish.
Megan Alice Heard, 31, 9066 Our Road, was arrested by the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office on charges of theft and obstruction of justice.
Chief Deputy Chris Ivey said Heard was arrested after an investigation into a burglary that occurred on April 15 in Iowa, La., in which two rings were stolen.
The rings were pawned the next day at Cash America in Lake Charles, he said.
Heard admitted taking the rings and selling them at the pawn shop, Ivey said.
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:
Christopher Davis Johnson, 38, 425 W. Burton St., Sulphur — bicycle front and rear lamps and side and rear reflectors, drug possession, drug paraphernalia, obstruction of justice. Bond: $55,000.
Kenneth Wayne Burnworth, 60, 3040 Angela Loop, Sulphur — drug possession, drug paraphernalia. Bond: $12,500.
Gina Frances Giaimis, 29, 800 Mike Hooks Road, Westlake — drug possession. Bond: $10,000.
Morgan Leanne Appleby, 25, 3322 Westwood Road, Westlake — domestic abuse battery, aggravated assault with a firearm. Bond: $10,000.
Kato Jamal Harrison, 41, 1219 N. Simmons St. — drug possession, monetary instrument abuse. Bond: $35,000.
Donnie Paul Myers, 58, 4412 Louisiana Ave. — drug paraphernalia, violation of drug-free zone, drug possession, possession of stolen firearms. Bond: $7,000.
Morris Ray Wolfe, 41, 2771 Amber Sky Road — domestic abuse battery, contempt of court.
