Jonathan Ray McZeal, 56, faces two to 10 years in prison. Sentencing will be in April.

McZeal was convicted of child pornography charges in Vermilion Parish in 2005 and was released from prison in 2008, said District Attorney Michael Cassidy.

He was previously convicted of carnal knowledge of a juvenile and was placed on probation, which he violated, sending him to prison until late 2015.

State law requires McZeal to renew his sex offender registration every six months.

Deputy Robert Lane said McZeal was given a written reminder of the renewal June 1, 2017, but failed to appear. He was arrested when he appeared in court on another matter in July.
