Arrest in burglaries committed in Jeff Davis, Allen Parish; more suspects identified

Melissa Lasha Aguillard, 41, of 576 West Friesen Road, Lake Charles, LA was booked into the parish last night on charges of attempted burglary and Simple burglary. Aguillard is held on a $20,000 bond.

She has four previous arrests and is believed to be involved in numerous burglaries in Jefferson Davis and Allen parishes. Detectives have identified two additional suspects involved in the burglaries with Aguillard and have obtained warrants for their arrest also. 

Detectives are now looking for David Paul Cavalier Jr., 33, of Lake Charles, LA and Rufus Ira Dunn, 41, of 275 McGinty Road, Montgomery, LA. 

Cavalier and Dunn are suspected of committing over twenty burglaries in Jefferson Davis and adjacent parishes.  Dunn was the individual caught on surveillance cameras Detectives asked for assistance in identifying on Facebook earlier this week. 

Sheriff Woods also thanks the individuals that have provided information on these cases. “Our deputies are patrolling the areas, stopping suspicious or unknown vehicles and persons seen in the parish, unfortunately we can’t be everywhere at all times. The assistance from residents, especially those with surveillance cameras, in their homes and businesses, greatly enhance our capabilities of identifying and apprehending these individuals that commit crimes.”””
