The nonconference part of the schedule was already known, beginning with a neutral-site season opener against Miami in the Dallas Cowboys’ home stadium in Arlington, Texas.
LSU will travel to Gainesville for the second consecutive year to play Florida, but unlike this season, the Tigers will have four home conference games.
LSU’s other cross-divisional opponent will be Georgia at home on Oct. 13, the week after traveling to Florida. It will be Georgia’s first trip to Tiger Stadium since 2008, when the Bulldogs won 52-38.
LSU has not enjoyed a lot of success at home against the Bulldogs, going 5-5-1.
If there’s an oddity to it, it’s playing Ole Miss at home on Sept. 29, far earlier than that rivalry game is usually contested.
LSU and Miami will meet for the first time since the 1988 season. The Hurricanes won that game 44-3 in Baton Rouge. LSU head coach Ed Orgeron was on Miami’s staff at the time.
