Dougharty Road structure fire in DeQuincy

Ward Six Fire Protection responded to a structure fire on Dougharty Road in DeQuincy on Saturday, July 22. Upon arrival of fire department, flames were showing through the roof of the home and the entire attic was involved in flames. Firefighters from Ward 6, DeQuincy, Houston River, Ward 1 and Beauregard Parish Fire Districts worked tirelessly to extinguish the fire. The home and most of the contents were a total loss. The homeowners were able to escape the home just after it was struck by lightening.
