Woman fights off kidnapper

NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans police say a woman fought off a would-be kidnapper by kicking him in the groin.
A police report says the 41-year-old was getting her mail when she noticed a white van, and afterward was approached by a man who “pulled her shirt over her head and wrapped her face with it.” Police say the man put his arm around her neck and they got into a struggle.
Police say the man fell after the woman kicked him, and that she called police after running to her vehicle and driving home.
The incident was reported about 5:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of Chimney Wood Lane. Police ask anyone with information to call.
