Beauregard Parish officials are keeping an eye on Tropical Storm Cindy, but will conduct “business as usual,” said Glen Mears, emergency preparedness director.

“All agency directors have been communicating regularly through emails, and we will continue to do that unless the storm changes,” Mears said. “If a change in the storm occurs, then we will (gather) for a unified command meeting.”

Mears said parish officials are waiting to see how the storm develops. But as more recent models showed a move to the west, Mears issued a warning to residents living near bodies of water.

“If they live near water, such as a creek, river or lake, then they should monitor the situation closely because it can change at any given time,” he said.
