A December trial date has been set for a former Calcasieu Parish sheriff’s deputy facing charges of sexual battery and malfeasance in office.
Authorities said Cody Onxley, while on duty, called the victim and went to her home under false pretenses April 9, 2016. The victim said that once Onxley was inside her residence, he touched her in a sexually inappropriate manner.
Onxley, who had been with the Sheriff’s Office for about four years, was arrested on April 11, 2016, and terminated from the department.
Prosecutor Charles Robinson said Wednesday in state district court that no resolution on the case could be reached. Judge Robert Wyatt then set Onxley’s trial for Dec. 11.
