“Is Sasol connected to the Trade Federation?” the reader wrote. “No really what are the round tanks for?”

During the Clone Wars, the Trade Federation — owner of the spherical space vessels, called core ships — was allied with the Confederacy of Independent Systems, or Separatist Alliance, which, through the machinations of Sith lord Darth Sidious, seceded from the Galactic Republic.

Sasol’s chemical complex, which is half finished and covers 400 acres, will comprise an ethane cracker, two polymer plants, an ethylene oxide-ethylene glycol plant and three derivative plants. Sasol spokeswoman Kim Cusimano said the spherical tanks “will be used for product storage.”

How is Mike the Tiger getting along after his surgery?

Louisiana State University announced earlier this month that Mike is doing fine, but that he will remain in his habitat for home games this season.

“On June 1, 2016, Mike VI received stereotactic radiotherapy at the Mary Bird Perkins – Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Center in Baton Rouge, La., for spindle cell sarcoma. It appears that the tumor in Mike’s face responded to the radiation treatment and has shrunk in size,” reads a news release issued Sept. 6.

“Mike’s attitude, weight and appetite are normal, and he does not appear to be in any pain. Eventually, the radiation-resistant cells remaining in the tumor will resume growth. As for time frames, it is estimated that without treatment Mike would have lived for just one or two months; with treatment, perhaps one to two years.”

Law license rumor has sliver of truth

I know both Clintons, Bill and Hillary, are law school graduates of Yale. I have heard they have both been disbarred. If so, what was the reason?

Bill Clinton agreed to have his license to practice law in Arkansas suspended for five years in 2001 after he admitted lying about his relationship with Monica Lewinsky during questioning in the Paula Jones sexual harassment lawsuit.

Later that year, the U.S. Supreme Court suspended his permission to practice there. Rule 8 of the high court’s rule book:

“Whenever a member of the Bar of this Court has been disbarred or suspended from practice in any court of record, or has engaged in conduct unbecoming a member of the Bar of this Court, the Court will enter an order suspending that member from practice before this Court and affording the member an opportunity to show cause, within 40 days, why a disbarment order should not be entered. Upon response, or if no response is timely filed, the Court will enter an ap?propriate order.”

He resigned from the Supreme Court bar a month or so later, before the court issued an order.

Hillary Clinton hasn’t been disbarred; her Arkansas law license was suspended in 2002 — amid her term as a U.S. senator for New York — because she failed to meet a continuing legal education requirement.
