A Lake Charles man has been arrested for his third DWI, authorities said.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Commander James McGee said a deputy was dispatched around 6:20 p.m. Tuesday to Interstate 210 eastbound near mile marker 6 to assist a vehicle with a blown tire that was causing a traffic jam.
McGee said when the deputy spoke with the driver, Henry P. Parker, 37, 212 Libby St., he detected an odor of alcohol emitting from his breath as well as slurred speech and unsteady balance.
Parker was transported to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, where he performed poorly on a standard field sobriety test. Parker then submitted to a breath intoxilyzer test, which revealed he was over the legal limit.
Parker, who has two prior DWI arrests from 2015, was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with third-offene DWI; driving under suspension for prior DWI; and obstruction of public passage.
Judge Clayton Davis set his bond at $8,500.
CPSO Deputy Cpl. Brandon Jean was the arresting deputy on this case.
CPSO on lookout for robbery suspects
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is on the lookout for two black males suspected in the robbery of a La. 14 convenience store.
Commander James McGee said the Cameron Express convenience store, 3247 La. 14 East, was robbed at about 8 p.m. Tuesday night.
McGee said one of the suspects came into the store with a handgun and demanded the store clerk lay face down on the ground while the suspect took money from the register.
After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, he fled the store. There was also another suspect who did not enter the store, but stayed at the front doors, McGee said.
Both suspects are described as black males. The suspect who entered the store is described as heavy set, about 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-10; he was wearing a black t-shirt and shorts with a blue bandana around his face.
The store clerk was not harmed.
If anyone has any information regarding this robbery, call the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office at 491-3605 or Crimestoppers at 439-2222.
CPSO Detective Patrick Smith is the lead investigator on this case.
