St. Louis clinches share of title

St. Louis running back Colby Rodriguez went over the 1,000-yard mark rushing for the season and St. Louis also got a pair of defensive touchdowns to clinch at least a share of the District 4-3A title with a 62-14 rout of Iota.
Rodriguez, who topped the 1,000-yard mark in the first quarter, finished with 157 yards and four touchdowns for the night, all in the first half while the Saints were building a 42-0 lead.
St. Louis (6-3, 4-0) finishes the regular season at Westlake.
Rodriguez scored on runs of 5, 2 10 and 2 yards.
St. Louis’ defense got in on the scoring with a pair of touchdowns on Connor Cutrera’s 15-yard fumble return and Luke Gaskin’s 95-yard fumble return.
Jimon Sallier added a 37-yard run for a 21-0 lead before the first quarter was over and Rodriguez scored three straight touchdowns in the second quarter.
The Saints’ Kade Khoury opened the third quarter with a 1-yard scoring run and the Saints got their only passing touchdown of the night to open the final quarter on Luke Ieyoub’s 30-yard toss to Carrington Guillory.
Iota (1-7, 0-4) got 206 yards rushing and a touchdown from Caleb Guillory but didn’t score until the fourth quarter on Alex Frey’s 25-yard run.
Guillory scored on a 4-yard run for the game’s final score.
