A 32-year-old Lake Charles man charged with home invasion, theft and criminal trespassing, ran naked through St. Patrick Hospital, city police said.

Deputy Chief Mark Kraus said Jessie Ray Bushnell, 2013 La. 14, was arrested Monday morning.

“Officer were dispatched to the 500 block of Shell Beach Drive in reference to a disturbance and fight,” Kraus said. “The victim told officers that Bushnell showed up at his residence and started knocking on his back door at 6:15 a.m.

“The victim said Bushnell was telling him to let him in the residence, claiming he lived there.”

Kraus said Bushnell refused to leave the property, took off his clothes and again tried to get into the home.

“The victim said he pushed Bushnell out of his garage and Bushnell got into his vehicle and sped away,” Kraus said. “Officers located Bushnell’s vehicle at St. Patrick’s Hospital. Officers were informed by hospital staff that a half-naked man was running around in the hospital.”

Kraus said a woman at the hospital said Bushnell ran up and removed her purse out of a chair.

“Officers were able to locate Bushnell on the second floor of the hospital in a restricted area and found the purse in his possession.”

Bond was set at $113,000.

Lake Charles man charged with aggravated rape

A 43-year-old Lake Charles man has been charged with aggravated rape.

According to records from the Calcasieu Correctional Center, Joseph Herbert Bargeman, 105 N. Prater St., was arrested Monday morning by city police.

Bond was set at $750,000.

Authorities looking for armed robbery suspect

City police are asking for help in identifying a man involved in the armed robbery of the Shop Rite store on Lake Street on Saturday.

Deputy Chief Mark Kraus said the suspect has been described as a black male wearing a long sleeve red, white and blue hoodie, light blue jean shorts and white tennis shoes. He was wearing black gloves and carrying a black, long-barreled revolver in his right hand.

Kraus said the suspect removed money from the register and took a carton of Kool cigarettes before fleeing the store.
