Crime Roundup: Lake Charles man facing sex charges

A 22-year-old Lake Charles man has been charged with two counts of sexual battery and two counts of indecent behavior with juveniles, authorities said.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said Phillip J. Bergeron, 1561 Birdnest Road, was arrested Wednesday night.
“On May 24, we responded to a complaint of indecent behavior with a juvenile,” Myers said. “The investigation revealed Bergeron inappropriately touched a 15-year-old girl and made sexually inappropriate requests from her. These incidents occurred for about a year with the last incident occurring in February.”
Bond was set at $350,000.
The investigation is ongoing and more charges are possible, Myers said.
Jennings woman arrested on probation violation
A 19-year-old Jennings woman, convicted of false swearing in 2011, was arrested Thursday on a probation violation.
Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Christopher Ivey said Meghan Leigh Franks was located and arrested at the Jennings American Legion Hospital.
