LONDON (AP) — English graphic designer Storm Thorgerson, whose eye-catching Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin album covers captured the spirit of 1970s psychedelia, has died. He was 69.
Thorgerson’s family said in a statement he died Thursday and that “his ending was peaceful and he was surrounded by family and friends.”
The statement did not give further details of Thorgerson’s cause or location of death but said that the artist, who had a stroke in 2003, had been ill for some time.
Thorgerson was survived by his mother Vanji, his son Bill, his wife Barbie Antonis, and her two children, Adam and Georgia.
