Dick’s Sporting Goods to open store in Prien Lake Mall

Dick’s Sporting Goods has announced it will construct a new store at the Prien Lake Mall in Lake Charles.
According to Nikki Buxton Goss, director of marketing and business development at the shopping center, the new business is expected to open in the fall of 2013.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dick’s Sporting Goods to the Prien Lake Mall. They are a great fit for our sports-minded community, and we are confident that our shoppers will enjoy this new option,” Goss commented in a prepared statement.
Mall officials consider the business an anchor store, joining Dillard’s, Sears, JCPenny, Kohl’s and Cinemark 14.
Dick’s will be constructed on the mall’s southwest side and will be in front of the facility’s food court.
No store will close during construction.
DICK’S operates 518 stores in 44 states.
It sells brand name sporting equipment, clothing and footwear.
