The Vinton Town Council on Tuesday closed the town’s skate park.
The council vote came after a committee charged with researching a best course of action recommended its closure. Councilmen Kevin Merchant and Bliss Bujard served on the committee.
The park was closed for 90 days in February while the council decided what to do with it.

Because of its secluded location and lack of adult supervision there, town officials said, the park became a haven for trouble.
Police Chief Ricky Fox said his office responded to many calls to the park.
Fox brought the issue before the council after a fight between two 8-year-old boys egged on by a teenage girl was posted online to YouTube. Fox said the video showed 12 to 15 juveniles at the park, but only one skateboard. When cars would pass by, the group would halt its questionable behavior.
