The Best Buy in Lake Charles is not among the 50 stores that are scheduled to close.

On Saturday, Best Buy confirmed the remaining stores that will close and the list did not include any Louisiana locations.

Stores closing this year include seven in California, six in Illinois and six in Minnesota.

Last month, the chain said it would close some of its bigger stores and cut 400 corporate jobs and $800 million in costs.

The company is dealing with slower sales of big ticket items like TVs and faces increased competition from Amazon.com and discount retail stores.

Best Buy has about 1,400 locations in the United States. It has already closed two stores this year — one in Missouri and one in Arizona. Most of the stores will close either in May or sometime this summer.
