Athletic trainer Ange accused of having inappropriate relationship with high school student

A decorated local athletic trainer has been arrested on suspicion of having an inappropriate relationship with a high school student, local authorities said.

Christopher George Ange, 50, was booked into Calcasieu Correctional Center on March 14 on charges of “prohibited sexual conduct between an educator and a student,” according to a news release from the Westlake Police Department.

Ange, who assisted at high schools throughout Southwest Louisiana as an athletic trainer with Lake Charles Memorial Hospital’s Sports Medicine, was named to the Louisiana Athletic Trainers Association’s Hall of Fame in 2010.

According to Westlake Police, officers responded to a report of possible sexual activity in a parking lot. Further investigation revealed that Ange had allegedly been having an “inappropriate relationship with a high school student.”””
