A Westlake woman arrested in November for sex-related offenses against a 13-year-old boy is scheduled to stand trial in Beauregard Parish on May 21, authorities said.

Heather N. Daughdrill, 28, was arrested in Calcasieu and Beauregard parishes for having sexual contact with the boy, authorities said.

Calcasieu Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said Daughdrill was teaching at a summer Bible school camp where the boy attended.

Daughdrill had multiple encounters with the boy from June to October, Myers said.

Investigators said Daughdrill had sex with the boy after picking him up from school without his parents’ knowledge. Daughdrill and the boy reportedly exchanged several explicit text messages.

Daughdrill’s charges include carnal knowledge of a juvenile, sexual battery, second-degree kidnapping, contributing to a juvenile’s delinquency and indecent behavior with a juvenile.

Daughdrill’s bond was set at $47,000 at the time of her arrest. After bonding out of jail in Calcasieu Parish, she was booked into the Beauregard Parish jail on similar charges.

She was charged with felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile and three counts of simple kidnapping, and was being held on $200,000 bond.

“Her behavior fits the kidnapping statute because she took the boy from school without his parents knowing,” said Beauregard Chief Deputy Joe Toler. He said there was no violence involved in the kidnapping.

Beauregard District Attorney David Burton said Daughdrill pleaded not guilty to the charges Feb. 7. Burton said her total bond is now $60,000.

Toler said Daughdrill is no longer incarcerated in the Beauregard jail.

A trial date has not yet been set in Calcasieu, but prosecutors said Daughdrill’s charges were submitted to the office recently and are under review.””
