Westlake woman charged in negligent homicides

A Westlake woman has been arrested for negligent homicide in a December crash that caused two fatalities.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kayla Vincent said Heidi A. Corley, 30, was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center on Sunday and charged with two counts of negligent homicide and off-road vehicles authorization for use on the shoulders of certain public roads.
Vincent said at at about 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 23, 2021, deputies were dispatched to the 3100 block of Davis Road in Westlake in reference to a crash involving a motorcycle and a four-wheeler.
Vincent said the motorcycle and the four-wheeler were both traveling north on Davis Road when the motorcycle struck the four-wheeler from behind. The driver of the motorcycle, along with the driver and the two passengers on the four-wheeler were all ejected.
The driver of the motorcycle, Trey Augustine, 29, of Westlake was pronounced dead at the scene. A juvenile passengeron the four-wheeler was transported to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Corley has been released on a $155,000 bond set by Judge Tony Fazzio, Vincent said.
